GiftPay Flexi eGifts valued at €/£/$50 or higher will have option for the gift recipient to secure their gift card by setting a password.

This prompt to set a password appears on eGifts valued at €/£/$50 or higher.

Setting a password is optional, gift recipients can choose whether or not they wish to add a password.

:::info Occasionally a recipient may forget that they actually added this password themself.

If a gift recipient is asked to enter a password in order to access their gift, the correct password will be their own password, perhaps a password they normally use.

:::

If your gift recipient claims they do not know the password, they can reset the password using the reset link. This will send an email to the gift recipient with instructions on how to reset their password.

You can help a gift recipient to reset their password if necessary. In GiftPay Express navigate to Reports > Gift Deliveries & Batches. Select the relevant program and batch and find the gift card. A padlock icon on the right hand side shows that a gift card has been password protected. Click on the padlock icon and select Reset Password. A password reset email will then be sent to the recipient.

If a gift recipient presses the X close button on the Secure your eGift Card prompt, the option to add a password is hidden and won’t appear for that gift anymore.
